What Else 10-6-9 Requires

On development sites, protected trees need chainlink fencing at or beyond the drip line, with no construction operations, traffic or grade changes inside it.

All trees over twelve inches in diameter must be identified by size and species on development plans. Replacement scales with what you save: if less than fifty percent of significant trees are preserved, one hundred percent of those removed must be replaced at three times their total diameter. In Environmentally Sensitive Areas a development must preserve a minimum of seventy percent of significant trees, with replacements guaranteed for two years after final acceptance. Removing vegetation in an ESA brings fines and prosecution.
