Pro Tree Service has provided commercial and municipal tree service across Chicago, the Southland suburbs and northwest Indiana since 1989. Roughly half our work is residential. The rest is commercial, institutional, municipal and utility. It also means property management companies, homeowner associations, industrial sites, developers clearing ground, villages maintaining their own trees, and line clearance along energized conductors. Those halves need different things from a contractor, and we do both.
Property Managers and Homeowner Associations
Managing trees across a portfolio is a scheduling and documentation problem as much as an arboricultural one. We work from a walked site list rather than a phone description. Then we price the whole property at once, so you can budget a year ahead. The hazard items go at the top, not buried in the middle. Where a board needs to justify spend, we say plainly which trees are a genuine liability. The rest can safely wait another season. That judgment, above all, is what separates commercial and municipal tree service from a price per tree.

Municipalities and Public Agencies
Public work is the strictest form of commercial and municipal tree service, and the paperwork gates it. Moreover, we hold bonds and contractor registrations across more than thirty Chicagoland municipalities and keep them current. For a village purchase order, that registration is usually the gating item. A bid fails when it is not already on file. Further, we work to ANSI A300 pruning standards and ANSI Z133 safety standards. Most municipal specifications call for both by name.

Utilities and Line Clearance
Work inside the minimum approach distance of an energized conductor is its own discipline. Specifically, OSHA 1910.269 and ANSI Z133 govern it. Only a qualified line-clearance arborist, or a trainee working under one, may do the work. We field qualified line-clearance crews for distribution circuits, service drops and right-of-way. Because a circuit crosses parkway, private yard and preserve boundary in one mile, the code question changes street by street. Indeed, we have read the tree ordinance for more than a hundred municipalities in this region. Industrial and Commercial Properties
Industrial sites bring access problems that residential work rarely does. Trees sit over rail spurs, along fence lines and truck routes. Meanwhile the yard cannot stop operating while a crew works. We schedule around your operation rather than expecting the reverse. That includes after-hours work where a drop zone would otherwise close a lane or a dock.
Retail and office properties are usually the opposite problem. The work has to look finished the same day, because customers arrive tomorrow. Every removal also includes haul-away of wood and brush, and we do not leave a site half-cleared over a weekend.
Homeowners
The other half of the business is simpler. A dead ash in the back yard, limbs over a roof, a tree that came down in a storm. Homeowners want a straight price and a crew that shows up when it said it would. They also want a lawn with no ruts in it afterward. That is the whole job. Because we also run municipal contracts, our residential crews work to the same standards.

For commercial, municipal and utility buyers, documentation therefore decides whether the work can even start. We provide certificates of insurance naming the correct entity as additional insured. We also provide bond confirmation, W-9s, and proof of workers’ compensation coverage. Our crews are employees on our own payroll rather than subcontractors. So the coverage question has a clean answer after an injury on your property.
