Glenview grades its trees before it regulates them. Section 86-35 sorts species into Class A for outstanding, B for good, C for moderate and N for nuisance — buckthorn, Russian olive, ailanthus. The penalty is the part worth memorizing. Section 86-36 sets a minimum fine of $1,000.00 per violation on top of replacement fees, with each day a separate offense. Two or more violations inside eighteen months can suspend or revoke a business license. That is a fine aimed squarely at contractors rather than at homeowners. Licensed as a landscape contractor. Chapter 22, Article XXII names six contractor types including landscape contractors. One practical note on debris. The village states: “The Village does not provide brush pickup services…Residents must arrange collection directly with Groot Industries at (847) 734-6400…This applies to all brush and branches, including those cut by contractors.” The Northfield Township Road District says it does collect brush for Glenview residents, so the two sources conflict.
