Commercial and Municipal Tree Service Across Chicagoland
Pro Tree Service has provided commercial and municipal tree service across Chicago, the Southland suburbs and northwest Indiana since 1989. Roughly half our work is residential, and the rest is commercial, institutional, municipal and utility — property management companies, homeowner associations, industrial sites, developers clearing ground, villages maintaining their own trees, and line clearance along energized conductors. Those halves of the business need different things from a contractor, and we are set up for all of them.
Property Managers and Homeowner Associations
Managing trees across a portfolio is a scheduling and documentation problem as much as an arboricultural one. We work from a walked site list rather than a phone description, price the whole property at once so you can budget a year ahead, and put the hazard items at the top rather than burying them. Where a board needs to justify spend, we will tell you plainly which trees are a genuine liability and which can safely wait another season.
We handle multi-building sites, common areas, entrance plantings and detention basin edges. Certificates of insurance are issued naming the association, the management company, or both, and we can turn one around the same day. More on our commercial tree service.
Municipalities and Public Agencies
We hold bonds and contractor registrations across more than thirty Chicagoland municipalities and keep them current. For a village purchase order that is usually the gating item — a bid does not get accepted if the registration is not already on file. We work to ANSI A300 pruning standards and ANSI Z133 safety standards, which is what most municipal specifications call for by name.

Utilities and Line Clearance
Work inside the minimum approach distance of an energized conductor is its own discipline, governed by OSHA 1910.269 and ANSI Z133, and it may only be carried out by a qualified line-clearance arborist or a trainee working under one. We field qualified line-clearance crews for distribution circuits, service drops and right-of-way, and we answer around the clock for restoration work.
Because a circuit crosses parkway, private yard and preserve boundary in the same mile, the code question changes street by street. We have read the tree ordinance for more than a hundred municipalities in this region, which is the difference between a clearance job that proceeds and one that stops while somebody rings the village. Industrial and Commercial Properties
Industrial sites bring access problems that residential work rarely does — trees over rail spurs, along fence lines and truck routes, in yards that cannot stop operating while a crew works. We schedule around your operation rather than expecting the reverse, including outside business hours where a drop zone would otherwise close a lane or a dock.
Retail and office properties are usually the opposite problem: the work has to look finished the same day, because customers are arriving tomorrow. Every removal includes haul-away of wood and brush, and we do not leave a site half-cleared over a weekend.
Homeowners
The other half of the business is the dead ash in the back yard, limbs over a roof, a tree that came down in a storm. Homeowners want a straight price, a crew that shows up when it said it would, and a lawn that is not rutted afterward. That is the whole job, and the fact that we also run municipal contracts is why our residential crews work to the same standards.
The Paperwork Side
For commercial, municipal and utility buyers, documentation decides whether the work can even be scheduled. We provide certificates of insurance naming the correct entity as additional insured, bond confirmation, W-9s, and proof of workers’ compensation coverage. Our crews are employees on our own payroll rather than subcontractors, which means the coverage question has a clean answer if anyone is injured on your property.
