A heavily wooded lot carries a $600 landscaping plan review fee. Penalties at Section 501 run not less than $100.00 nor more than $750.00 for each offense.
Licensing in Burr Ridge. Effective 1 August 2025, all contractors performing work in the Village of Burr Ridge must be licensed or registered. The fee is $200 for a general contractor with subcontractors and $100 for all others, valid one year. Contractors must carry insurance of $1,000,000, plus workers’ compensation and the Village named as additional insured, and a $10,000 surety bond. The trade categories do not include tree, landscape or arborist work.

Woodlands, Steep Slopes And Floodplains
The physical setting is the unusual part. The three primary natural features in Burr Ridge are woodlands, steep slopes and floodplains, all related to the Des Plaines River and the creeks running through the area. Steep slopes are the distinguishing element. A tree on a grade is loaded asymmetrically from the day it germinates, and it fails differently from a tree on flat ground.
